Hotel

The original chain bridge was constructed in 1814 and the suspension design was a feat of engineering. The bridge, hanging from a network of handmade chains, became the most famous and unique bridge out of a total of 35 that span the River Dee between Bala and the sea.

The Chainbridge is still a famous landmark and our eponymous hotel a popular venue for locals and travellers alike.

Dining

At The Chainbridge, we believe in offering simple, good quality food & drink in a pleasant, beautiful setting. Where we can, we use local suppliers & ingredients, offering our guests some of the best produce this wonderfully rich & diverse part of the country has to offer.

The Bar

The Bar is a thriving, busy space, where you can meet friends and loved
ones for drinks and food all year round. With wonderful local real ales, a
wide range of soft and alcoholic drinks & some lovely homemade treats, it
ticks all the boxes for any occasion.

Functions

People have been coming to The Chainbridge for years, celebrating birthdays, weddings & christenings among many other happy, and some less happy, occasions.

Absolutely wonderful staff and the hotel must have the best setting in Wales. It's right on the path of the Llangollen History Trail, so great walks in either direction. Lovely dinner, good choice of drinks in the bar, just sad we couldn't stay longer. Can't wait to come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Our previous stay was 13 years ago and the changes are amazing. We hope to return again soon with our friends who came with us last time. Once agains thank you for an enjoyable 3 days. Our compliments to all your staff.
