March 21st, 2020
The hotel is temporarily closed as a result of the government's closure of all UK premises such as ours. We will re-open, but at this stage we do not know when.
We are changing our terms, so that all of your non-refundable deposits will not be lost and can be transferred to a later date. We ask, however that you do not re-book now as things are too uncertain; just know your deposit is safe and we will welcome you again as soon as we can.
In the short-term, we are cancelling all bookings for the next 14 days and will be in contact with anybody that affects directly. We expect to be closed for longer than that, but at this stage we do not want to make assumptions as to when that may be, so we will update accordingly.
During our closure, we will try our best to monitor emails and calls when we can, but this will be intermittent. We will have night time security at the hotel throughout our closure, and will have somebody in the hotel on a daily basis, depending on restrictions regarding self-isolating and social distancing.
As a result of the government's intervention through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, I am delighted to say that all of our hardworking, loyal, and wonderful staff can be retained throughout this period of closure, and will be with us when we re-open. This last week has been the hardest anybody working in hospitality can remember, and I am grateful to all of our staff who have persevered with us as we have tried to ride this storm.
The future is still uncertain, and it is going to be hard work, but I know that we will have the honour of welcoming you back to The Chainbridge in the future.
Please, now, focus on the most important thing in life, each other. Look after your health and that of your loved ones, follow the government advice, be kind to each other. This crisis is going to get worse and we all need to come together and support each other. If there is anything we can do in that regard, ask.
Thank you all for your understanding, co-operation and compassion.
