The Chainbridge Hotel is one of the most famous and historic hotels in Llangollen and is situated in a unique position between the dramatic fast-flowing waters of the River Dee and the serene Llangollen Canal.

Only a short walk from the stunning Horseshoe Falls waterfall, The Chainbridge Hotel is perfectly located to explore the wonders of this World Heritage Site. Every year we welcome visitors to the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, held at the Llangollen Pavilion, only one mile from the Chainbridge Hotel.

The chain bridge, from which the hotel takes its name, is a historic landmark and is being fully restored which, when complete, will provide a breathtaking backdrop from which to enjoy the hotel's facilities. The bridge dates from 1814 and will be restored and open to the public within two years.

The hotel, which is only two miles outside Llangollen, has 36 letting bedrooms, all with modern en-suite bathrooms, a riverside restaurant which serves beautiful, fresh, local produce and a bar which is open all day for drinks, bar meals and cream tea, which can be enjoyed while overlooking the beauty of the River Dee.

We offer residents free WI-FI access in public areas, we have ample parking for all guests and we also have a number of rooms that are suitable for guests with mobility issues. For those who wish to holiday with their pets, we have a number of rooms where dogs are welcome, with direct access onto the canal towpath, for which there is a small charge.

The hotel is now under new ownership and significant improvements are being made which will enhance our guests' stay.
